Василий Смыслов стал чемпионом СССР в 1949, 1955 г. г. и мира в 1957-58 г. г. В матчах на первенство мира спортсмен трижды встречался с М. М. Ботвинником: в 1954 г. - ничья, в 1957 г. - выигрыш, в 1958 г. - поражение. Также, Василий Васильевич являлся участником матч-турнира на первенство мира в 1948 году, результат - 2-е место после Ботвинника. Выступал в составе сборной команды СССР на девяти шахматных олимпиадах в 1952-72 г. г. и на чемпионатах Европы в 1957-73 г. г. Василий Смыслов награждён орденом Ленина.

Самое удачное - бумажные книги, переведенные в формат базы данных, но такие, к сожалению, есть не по всем дебютам. На этой основе можно уже изучать конкретные варианты по большим базам.
4. Тренироваться в практической игре можно с движками, но использовать контроли времени, близкие к реальным.
